The vibrant tea towel is made from 100% cotton and is machine washable.
The design is based on the extraordinary 13th century stained glass windows at Canterbury Cathedral which illustrate a number of miracles performed at the shrine of Thomas Becket. After Becket’s murder in 1170 and canonisation in 1173, Canterbury Cathedral became a famous pilgrimage site, and people would often journey there hoping for illnesses and ailments to be cured.
A beautiful gift for the home.
This tea towel forms part of a range accompanying the British Museum's exhibition Thomas Becket: murder and the making of a saint.
