The metal bookmark features brightly coloured enamelling, and is finished with a blue silk tassel marker. The design is based on a detail from one of the 13th century stained glass windows in Canterbury Cathedral which depict images of the saint Thomas Becket, many of which show him performing healing miracles. In this detail, Becket is depicted wearing Archbishop’s robes and pointing to his own tomb.
A wonderful souvenir celebrating the incredible stained glass artwork.
This bookmark forms part of a range accompanying the Britiah Museum's exhibition Thomas Becket: murder and the making of a saint.
